IHS Medical Center Emergency Department & Urgent Care Renovation

Indian Health Services obtained funding to support the renovation and expansion of an Emergency Department and Urgent Care at one of their New Mexico facilities. The project was budget-challenged and provided less square footage than desired. Goals were to validate current decisions and provide approaches and alternatives to improve value.

During this study the Adapt team, using the InvisionValue™ approach, enabled the team to creatively identify over 150 Ideas to improve design and construction which were then put through the Adapt structured evaluation process, resulting in the development of 20 promising concepts. The Adapt team then quickly synthesized user input, constraints and design concepts to reduce maintenance, enhance the environment, improve work-flow and safety, and speed the project schedule.
